A couple of years ago we used a digger to clean out the mill race which had silted up. That pile of 'soil' became ideal potting compost, but with time nettles took over, which we have plenty of around the various areas and value them for providing habitat for bugs and other beasties.

We had already made the raised beds , it was a case of leveling the ground, and using the digger to back fill the beds.

With the various complete , and the tracked digger threatening to cut up the grass we finished in the rain.

The final look back as light was dimming.
