Herb bed to Pond Creation

Our little orchard pond suffered a leak, so we had to create a larger one to take the various pondlife we were in danger of losing, such as dragonfly larvae, diving beetles and smooth newt habitat.

The old herb bed was cleared and relocated, and the digger began work.

Once dug we layed out the pond liner protection ,

.....followed by the 6 m x 6m pond liner.

Cut to size and shape using various to stop the wind lifting all.....finally using water to weigh all down.

Will the edge tucked under turf the pond looked like a pond.

With the pond filled and life from the old now in the new, it will be a matter of tweaking the rest.
